Saute-Moutons

Jet boating on the St. Lawrence has been part of Montreal’s summer playbook for decades, and few rides are as synonymous with the river as these high-speed runs through the Lachine Rapids. Operating since 1983, this long-running excursion launches from the Old Port and heads upriver before plunging into one of the city’s most turbulent natural features. The classic one-hour ride spends roughly half its time navigating the rapids themselves, where powerful currents guarantee a full soaking.

For those who prefer speed without quite as much water, shorter spin-boat runs focus on tight turns and 360-degree manoeuvres closer to the harbour. Life jackets, sandals, and splash gear are provided, but a change of clothes is strongly advised.
