Porte à Côté

Porte à Côté is Rosemont’s answer to the casual-but-considered wine bar, operating with the same kitchen chops as its sibling restaurant Rose Ross. Less formal but just as thoughtful, the space offers a rotating menu of small seasonal plates meant to pair with natural wines, craft beer, or one of several standout cocktails—the cucumber-mint “Idée Fraîche” is a local favourite. Dishes shift with availability, but past offerings have included golden cod fritters, Sichuan-spiced pork, smoked trout, and a silky mushroom pâté on sourdough. Tuesdays bring $1.50 oysters and a reliably good crowd. Designed for lingering, the space blends café energy with bistro polish, while the terrace doubles as a neighbourhood hangout once the weather turns.
