In 2020, three former colleagues, who’d each spent years working as servers and brewers at other neighbourhood breweries, decided to launch something of their own. Thus, Mutoïde arrived, resembling a generation of past breweries, inspired by industrial interiors with garage-style doors, exposed ceilings, and copious amounts of stainless steel. It sets itself apart, though, with a heavy metal soundtrack that draws a mixed crowd of metalheads, regular beer drinkers, and those who belong to both crowds. Food options stay minimal, so it’s best treated as a stop for a focused pint rather than a dinner destination.
