Empire took over the Berri building Archambault left in 2023 after nearly eighty years, reopening it in late 2025 as three floors and roughly 26,000 square feet of skate and snowboard retail, which the company bills as the largest shop of its kind anywhere. Phil Grisé opened the first Empire in Sainte-Julie in 1999 and has run the chain across Quebec since. Entry is through Maison BaultBerri, a café built with Laurent Dagenais that keeps longer hours than the store itself. Footwear, apparel and accessories are upstairs, with the women's section given its own room, and a thrift operation downstairs sells used gear from the nineties and Y2K years. Daniel Finkelstein's studio handled the design, which skips the logo walls and promotional screens in favour of art and open space.
