Known for more than a century as the Corona Theatre, Théâtre Beanfield has been part of the Sud-Ouest’s cultural landscape since 1912. Built during the silent film era, the venue was designed with live accompaniment in mind, complete with an orchestra pit, compact stage, and dressing rooms tucked beneath it. After thriving through the mid-20th century, it narrowly escaped demolition in the 1960s and spent years lingering as a memory for neighbourhood residents before resurfacing as a filming location and experimental art site in the late 1980s. Acquired by the Institut des arts de la scène in 1997, the theatre reopened in 1998 following careful restoration that preserved its distinctive arched façade and original interior.

Reintroduced as Théâtre Beanfield in 2023, it now operates as a performance venue, creative residency space, and gathering point for artists, schools, and cultural organizations.
