Anthony Gebrayel and Angélique Custeau opened Beyt on Boulevard Saint-Laurent in spring 2026 with a straightforward premise: a cave à manger in the European tradition, where dropping in for a coffee, a glass of wine, or a plate to share is as valid as a full dinner.

Exposed stone, glass-block bar, 34 seats inside, the name says it all: beyt means house in Arabic, a nod to Anthony's Lebanese roots and to the unhurried hospitality the two co-owners built around. Anthony trained in sommellerie at the ITHQ before a decade in restaurant wine service; Angélique shaped her path across Fleurs et Cadeaux, Hélicoptère, and Bonheur d'Occasion.

The wine list she curates is in constant motion, private imports and artisan arrivals poured by the glass. Food runs to Lebanese-inflected sharing plates: hummus with olive tapenade, stuffed eggplant on labneh, lamb skewers with za'atar yogurt, Quebec cheese and charcuterie boards.
