Darling Bowling

Founded in 1963 by Joe Celestino, Salon de quilles Darling has been a Hochelaga-Maisonneuve fixture for over sixty years. The alley's 24 duckpin lanes, original Brunswick pin-setting machines, and wooden lanes have been preserved through successive ownership; current owner Isabelle Lavoie, whose grandfather ran the Broadway bowling alley in Montreal-Est in the 1950s, took over in 2014 and oversaw a renovation to restore the room's sixties aesthetic. The Darling's Diner resto-bar serves burgers, poutine, calamari, wings, spaghetti, and draft Quebec microbrews, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Weekly packages include Boules & Broue ($30, Thursday) and SuperBowl ($15, Friday). Complètement Disco sessions run Thursday through Saturday with lasers, mirror balls, and black lights. The alley also hosts private events, team building, school groups, and fundraising Bowl-O-Thons, and has served as a film and television location for numerous Quebec productions.
