Village au Pied-du-Courant

Village au Pied-du-Courant has been animating a stretch of Notre-Dame Est along the St. Lawrence each summer since 2014, transforming what is otherwise a snow depot into one of the city's more beloved seasonal spaces. The format is Thursday to Saturday, late afternoon through evening: a sandy urban beach, a biergarten, food vendors, live music and DJ sets, and a Sunday artisan market. Entry is free before 7 p.m.; tickets are required after. The views take in the river, the port, and the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. The whole thing is designed to feel like a boardwalk transplanted from somewhere sunnier.
