Complexe Desjardins

About

Inaugurated on April 3, 1976, through a joint initiative of the Desjardins Group and the Quebec government, Complexe Desjardins is one of downtown Montreal's major mixed-use developments. Its three octagonal towers, the tallest reaching 152 metres, frame a large public square anchored by an iconic fountain. Connected to the RÉSO and two metro stations, the complex houses a retail gallery with shops and restaurants, various services, and a hotel now operating as the DoubleTree by Hilton. The Grande-Place hosts over 200 events a year, from trade shows and exhibitions to concerts, making it a convergence point for neighbourhood workers and visitors to the adjacent Quartier des spectacles alike. In 2026, marking its 50th anniversary, the complex has launched a major renovation phase.
