Délices de Lala

The Saul-Bellow Library is already a good reason to spend a morning in Lachine. The café tucked inside its lobby is a better one.
Délices de Lala is about as micro as a café gets: a counter, a coffee machine, and an owner who seems to know every regular by name. What it lacks in square footage it makes up for in warmth and in the quality of what comes out of the kitchen. Brazilian specialties anchor the menu: pão de queijo, coxinha, brigadeiros, alongside pastries, sandwiches, soups, and salads made fresh with local ingredients.
The coffee is ethically sourced and taken seriously. Vegan options are available, special orders for small events are welcome, and breakfast baskets can be arranged for delivery across Montreal.
