Housed in a former student residence at 01 Boulevard René-Lévesque Est, Hotel ZERO1 has been part of the downtown landscape since 2010. After a full-scale renovation by Groupe Cholette, the 12-storey building reopened as a modern boutique hotel—clean lines, bold design, and compact rooms that punch above their weight. It’s wedged right where it needs to be: on the edge of the Quartier des Spectacles, a short walk from Old Montreal, Chinatown, and the central business core. The rooms—165 in total—range from minimalist studios to family-friendly suites, with kitchenette setups, large windows, and plenty of natural light. A seasonal rooftop terrace offers views of the skyline, while the on-site amenities (breakfast, gym, meeting spaces) hit the essentials. Don’t expect luxury, but for festival-goers and budget-conscious travellers who want to be at the city’s cultural crossroads, it does the job.
