Le Grand Goût

Le Grand Goût brings Haitian comfort food to the east end with a menu that’s big on portions and heavy on flavour. Known for their crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside griot, the spot also turns out strong versions of fritay, plantain cups loaded with meat and pikliz, and creamy, spicy mac n’ cheese that’s become something of a sleeper hit. Combo plates offer one or two meats with all the sides—rice, plantains, macaroni salad, and house sauce—at prices that punch above their weight. There’s room to eat in, but most regulars opt for takeout, where the team keeps things fast, friendly, and consistent.
