This weekend presents a strange through line I didn’t expect that’s made up of endings, goodbyes, and milestones worth acknowledging.
Just For Laughs takes its last bow on Sunday after a roaring comeback of an edition, promising businesses are shuttering, and even our featured history lesson this week details the great decade of parties that had to end.
But endings always sit next to new beginnings: Haiti on Fire hits its 20th this weekend, Fierté is warming up for its own, and the scene surrounding restaurants and bars barely takes a knee as a slew of popups and takeovers fill our itinerary with watermelon-infused coffee, wine tastings, new pizza to try out, and dollar corn shucks.
