From late September 29 until October 4, MAPP_MTL is returning this year and celebrating its 10th anniversary, transforming Montreal into an open-air canvas of light, animation, and community creativity.
Founded in 2016 by Thien Vu Dang, over the last decade MAPP_MTL has been championing projection mapping and digital art, using public spaces as platforms for creative expression, spotlighting local and international talent. Beyond its signature festival, the organization runs year-round events and workshops dedicated to advancing the still-emerging medium, fostering an open, city-wide dialogue.
This year’s edition promises to be particularly ambitious, with two flagship projection installations: a new work by Studio Baillat, lighting up a façade near the Saint-Laurent metro station from September 29 to October 5, 2026, co-produced with the Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles. For the first time, MAPP is collaborating with Montréal en Histoires to present two spectacular digital murals in Old Montreal, created by artists Téo (FR) and Dalkhafine (FR/QC/CA).

Montreal Digital Creativity Interactive Ping-Pong Tournament

MAPP's fourth inter-studio table tennis tournament isn't your typical ping pong match. Interactive projection will augment the space, as the city's digital creative studios intermix. Great for networking with industry professionals and supporting your favourite creative studios, in addition to giving back to MAPP and helping fund its events and longevity. Digital creativity studios or organizations wishing to participate in the tournament can fill out this registration form.

📍Van Horne Skatepark
Part of the 10th anniversary celebration, MINUTE_MAPP will display 60-second projection mapping works, created by more than 60 experienced and amateur, international and local digital mapping artists alike, on the former Millions Tapis et Tuiles building façade, overlooking the Van Horne Skatepark. Following this year’s theme of CROSSROADS, each projection will tackle the meeting of disciplines, cultures, and eras.

MAPP Night follows a dance-driven evening, with mapping projections, scenography, and a musical program. Studio Baillat will curate the music, featuring Jordan Gardner, Ellxandra, Andrès Vellila, and Baya, with visuals by Studio Baillat, Thisisnodesign, and Jules Roze.
Digital Block Party: The Festival’s Signature Event

The 10th edition of MAPP also means the 10th edition of the Digital Block Party, a three-day event filled with projection mapping, electronic music, food vendors, creative workshops, and neighbourly celebration. On October 1, enjoy DJ sets from Cuerpos; MINUTE_MAPP's 60-second projections; and projections from Studio Baillat, Sabrina Ratté, Téo, Aude Guivarc'h, dalkhafine, and Chien Champion. On October 2, expect music programming from Baillat Studio with Hologramme (live), Baya, Chloé Chloé, a Tagtool Jam, more projection mapping, and a festival closing party, MAPP Night, at Moment Factory. On October 3, music by Ferias, another Tagtool Jam, and the last round of projections will take place.

Led by visual artists Marc-Olivier Lamothe and Teo, the Tagtool Jam is an opportunity for anyone to try their hand at projection mapping. Whether you're an experienced artist or someone curious to start, all participants can use animations with the Tagtool app and see their projections inside Caserne 26.
