Aux 33 Tours has anchored Plateau-Mont-Royal's record scene since 2007, when owner Pierre Markotanyos turned a lifelong collecting habit into one of the city's largest independent vinyl shops. The inventory runs past 50,000 titles, spanning new pressings and graded used stock across jazz, metal, punk, classical, soul, disco, francophone and international sections, with a wall of rarities and hard-to-find Japanese imports near the front. Beyond records, the store carries turntables, vintage receivers and speakers, and runs an in-house repair service for audio gear. Staff buy and trade collections, so the bins turn over constantly. Markotanyos also runs Return to Analog, a reissue label that brings out-of-print Québécois and French-Canadian albums back into circulation, several of which surface in the shop's stacks.
