Bistrot à Franky

Francis Blais of Menu Extra runs this French bistro on Bernard with sommelier Alexis Demers and general manager Maxime Beaulieu. Half the menu is bistro classics that stay put: œufs mayo, os à moelle, onglet maître d'hôtel, filet au poivre, pâté en croûte and sole meunière deboned at the table. The other half changes with the market. Philippe Dufort is chef de cuisine and Valentin Rouyé handles pastry. The dining room seats 80, is painted almost entirely white, and has an open kitchen behind glass. Zébulon Perron designed it, Xavier Dolan did the art direction, and the walls hold work by Rebecca Munce, Delphine Hennelly and Fred Gervais. The wine list leans on Burgundy, Jura and Loire, plus Quebec bottles across several vintages. Cocktails are classics only.
