Hot Africa

Hot Africa has been a fixture on Chemin Queen Mary in Côte-des-Neiges since at least the mid-2010s, specializing in Cameroonian cooking. The menu is built around braised whole fish (sea bass, mackerel, tilapia) in house-made spiced marinades, braised chicken, grilled goat, roasted lamb, and ndolé, the Cameroonian stew of bitterleaf and ground peanuts. Plantain and rice are the standard sides. House-made bissap and ginger juice round out the drinks. Portions are generous and the cooking is straightforward, traditional, and consistent.
