Walking through the doors of 3 Femmes et 1 Coussin in the Plateau, nothing prepares you for the genuine treasure trove hidden behind the curtains at the back of the shop. Your eye lands first on the seasonal window display, a carefully orchestrated cabinet of curiosities; then the masterfully arranged table showcasing iconic Vista Alegre collections (for which they remain to this day the sole importers in Quebec); and finally on the shelves overflowing with plates, glasses, and crystal that, catching the light, could brighten the dreariest day.
Annick D'Amours appears: "Here, up front, is our retail section for individual customers," she explains. "It represents a minority of our revenue. Over the years, we've developed a very specific niche with the restaurant industry. In less than two years, we've become tableware importers, wholesalers, and artisans specializing in enamel firing."
