On December 6, ROYALMOUNT is bringing The Nutcracker to Montrealers with a complimentary performance in front of the Wishing Bear, a prominent public installation inside the mall. There will be two complimentary performances running for 35 minutes at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Expect a full production with 35 dancers and 25 musicians, staged in a setting that trades the traditional theatre for something more accessible. Families, ballet fans, and anyone looking for a dose of this classic holiday tradition without the usual ticket price can just show up.

The Nutcracker has been a December fixture for over a century, and there's a reason it keeps coming back: grace, spectacle, and a story that appeals to anyone who loves Christmas stories, whether you're six or sixty. ROYALMOUNT is giving it space to do what it does best—just in a different context.

The performances are designed to be family-friendly, short enough to hold attention without dragging, and positioned as part of the destination's broader holiday programming. Don’t forget you can skate beforehand on the Urban Park rink (open daily, 9 AM to 9 PM), grab food at Le Fou Fou, and make a full afternoon of it.

ROYALMOUNT is accessible by metro (De la Savane station via the covered walkway), bike, or car, with four hours of complimentary parking. See more of ROYALMOUNT’s holiday programming here.

Bringing you the next big thing.
