Editor’s Note: The Main is a presenting partner of RAMEN RAMEN MTL.

Ramen rewards patience. A good bowl starts with a broth that's been simmering for hours, sometimes days, before it ever meets the noodles, the tare and the toppings that each do their part. In Japan, nearly every region has its own version: rich pork-bone tonkotsu in Fukuoka, miso in Sapporo, soy-forward shoyu in Tokyo, and countless local spins in between.

Montreal has plenty of places to explore those differences. The city's ramen scene runs from national chains to small independents making their noodles from scratch, and izakayas, vegan kitchens, and even a taqueria have joined in.

For its fifth edition, RAMEN RAMEN MTL spreads across 19 locations for two weeks. Each one serves an exclusive bowl made just for the event, some traditional and some leaning into the realm of fusion. Plan your own crawl from Escondite to La Belle Tonki and Biirū to Umami Ramen, and vote for your favourite along the way.

The 2026 edition of RAMEN RAMEN MTL is presented by The Main. As presenting sponsor, we’re hosting the event’s official page at themain.com/ramenramen. There, you can find an interactive guide and a full directory mapping all the event’s participating restaurants, to help all RAMEN RAMEN MTL attendees navigate the festival’s offerings. The website will be available starting on October 12.

Where To Eat at RAMEN RAMEN MTL

There's no festival grounds here. RAMEN RAMEN MTL happens in dining rooms across the city, so the fun is in building your own crawl. Here's where to go.

Across 19 different establishments, each serving a different ramen offering, RAMEN RAMEN MTL comes to life. Here's where to go for your ramen fix:

    🍜 Biirū

At Biirū, Tokyo and Montreal collide in a Japanese izakaya-inspired space, complete with neon lights, music, sharing plates, and, of course, ramen. For RAMEN RAMEN MTL, enjoy a Shio Ramen with chicken paitan broth, noodles, chashu, egg, cheese curds, bamboo, sofrito, and more.

    🍜 Escondite

Escondite is a local taqueria that offers creative dishes with a Mexican flair in its seven locations in and around the city. They’ll be offering a Latin–Japanese ramen dish for this year’s RAMEN RAMEN MTL, made with a tonkotsu broth, noodles, al pastor sauce, pork al pastor, pickled pineapple, and crispy tortilla chips,

🍜 Kazo Ramen (LaSalle and Mont-Royal locations)

Kazo is a Japanese ramen spot with a range of classic dishes like karaage and donburi in addition to ramen with chashu, chicken, and beef. This year, as part of the festivities, Kazo is offering ramen made with flavourful shrimp and chicken broth, topped with chashu and black truffle sauce.

    🍜 Kinton Ramen (Sainte-Catherine x Guy and Pointe-Claire locations)

Owner and executive chef Aki Urata came to Canada after an earthquake hit his home city of Kobe, Japan, and opened Kinton's first location here. The chain now has over 55 locations. At both of its RAMEN RAMEN MTL participants, Kinton will be serving a Golden Sesame Ramen, topped with ground pork, spinach, bean sprouts, scallions, and a seasoned egg.

    🍜 La Belle Tonki

La Belle Tonki is an Asian comfort food spot that blends the flavours and traditions of the continent with classic Canadian and Montreal dishes. During RAMEN RAMEN MTL, a special Singaporean-Japanese fusion ramen inspired by Hainanese chicken rice will join dishes like a banh mi burger and "kimcheesy" poutine on the menu.

🍜 Marusan (Time Out Market Montreal)

Marusan comes from the same group as Osmo x Marusan and Fleurs et Cadeaux, and its downtown counter at Time Out Market leans hearty: rich curry donburi, karaage, and ramen. At Marusan, the RAMEN RAMEN MTL special will be a bowl of noodles in a triple broth made from dashi, vegetables, and pork, topped with green onions, shallots, bamboo shoots, garlic chips, and chashu.
