Ramen Ramen Fes is back for its fourth edition, a food festival/public taste test/community challenge running October 13 to 26, 2025 to bring together top ramen chefs from across the city (and beyond) for a multi-week showdown celebrating every variation of the beloved Japanese dish.
From a free opening night party and screening of Tampopo to a lineup of bowls you can actually vote on, here’s everything you need to know.
“Ramen, Japan’s most popular ‘hobby,’ has overtaken sushi as the ultimate foodie obsession worldwide in both hype and coolness. In recent years, ramen has grown rapidly in quality and popularity in many cities, supported by an ever-growing community of fans. RAMEN RAMEN is a celebration of this new reign, and a way to encourage the continued development of ramen culture outside Japan.” — Thien Vu Dang, Co-Director of RAMEN RAMEN

🍜 What is Ramen Ramen Fes?

Think of it as a citywide ramen crawl with a competitive twist: For two weeks, participating Montreal restaurants each feature a special ramen on the menu.
You eat. You vote. Pretty simple.
It’s free to participate—you just pay for the ramen at each spot. An interactive online map goes live on October 10 via ASIASIE, making it easy to plan your route. Alongside public voting, a panel of jurors will each select their personal coup de cœur pick.
...we’re on the jury this year, so we’ll be eating a lot of noodles. You’re welcome.
